Sun Temple- Konark

Konark stands as a classic example of Hindu temple architecture, complete with a colossal structure, sculptures, and artwork on myriad themes.

On the shores of the Bay of Bengal, bathed in the rays of the rising sun, the temple at Konarak is a monumental representation of the sun god Surya’s chariot; its 24 wheels are decorated with symbolic designs and it is led by a team of six horses. Built-in the 13th century, The temple is a World Heritage Site and now mostly in ruins, and a collection of its sculptures is housed in the Sun Temple Museum.

Chilika

Chilika– The Largest brackish water lake in Asia occupied an area of 1100 sq.km is another attraction of Odisha. Located 44 km away from Puri. The lake is the largest coastal lagoon in India and also the second-largest saltwater lagoon in the World. The Ecosystem of the Lake supports the Bird sanctuary. In winter Chilika becomes the home for the Migrant birds.

Birds came here from the Caspian Sea, Lake Baikal, the Aral Sea, and other remote parts of Russia, Kirghiz steppes of Mongolia, Central and Southeast Asia, Ladakh, and the Himalayas. White-bellied sea eagles, Graylag Geese, Purple Moorhen, Jacana, Herons, and Flamingos are among the many species which make the lake a bird watcher’s delight. Chilika is home to one of the world’s largest breeding colonies of Flamingos. Irrawaddy dolphins Blackbuck, Golden Jackals, Spotted Deer, and Hyenas also seen here. Jiranga Monastry- Mini Tibet Of Odisha

The largest Buddhist monastery in Eastern India is located in Chandragiri, Gajapati district, Odisha state. The monastery inaugurated by the Tibetan guru Dalai Lama in 2010. It is a residence-cum-college for budding Buddhist monks who come from all over India to study. The Gajapati District itself gives an experience jungle view. Both Sites of the road decorated with Corn Farms and with Different types of Plants. It feels like Mother Nature gave an extra effort to create the place with the piece. There is a Hilly Area surrounded by dense forest where you will find the settlement of Tibetians. and they called it “ Phuntsokling” which means the land of Happiness.

When you Entered the Monastry you can find the walls, the colors, and the Paintings express some characters and Knowledge.  The Monestry has three large Idols of Goutam Buddha. The Avalokiteswara statue in a sitting position at Mahedragad is another attraction in the Monastery.  This place is one of the Hidden tourist places in Odisha.

Daringbadi Hill Station

Daringbadi is a pleasant surprise for the Tourist. The small hill station is known as Kasmir of Odisha. Daringbadi located in the Kandhamal district of Odisha offers a blend of panoramic green valleys, coffee estates, dense pine forests, and plenty of places to visit. Bhitarkanika Mangroves

BhitarKanika is the only rainforest in Odisha covering an area of 650 km in the Bramhani and Bhaitarani river deltas. It gives an awesome experience to Forest Adventures. Local people call it mini Amazon and it’s perfectly right. Bhiarakanika is one of the few places in India to have all three types of Crocodiles, Saltwater crocodile, freshwater crocodile, alligators.  People have to book a boat for the journey. During the boat ride, one can visit the Kanika temple, museum( where skeletons of Crocodiles were stored),  Mangroove forests, crocodiles, Kingfishers, wild boar, pink-red crabs, dears, monkeys, iguana lizards, etc.

 For the Bhitarakanika trip, One can book Bus from Cuttack to Chandabali or else can book tickets through OTDC. OTDC organizes weekend day trips from Bhubaneswar. For staying   Inside the Sanctuary there are many nature camps for the tourists.

Sambalpur

 One can also visit wildlife parks here to enjoy the beauty of nature that Sambalpur has in plenty. The world-famous Hirakud Dam is the main attraction. The city feels proud to describe the history to give birth to the number of freedom fighters against the British Government Sambalpur has a flourishing tribal life with exclusive exquisite folk songs-dances and culture. Sambalpur is the best tourist place in western Odisha.
